Dr. Zavriyev joined MagiQ in January 2003. Before joining MagiQ he was with Astral Point Communications (later acquired by Alcatel) where he led an effort to incorporate optical amplifiers into Astral Point ON5000 and ON7000 metro nodes and was instrumental in developing the design rules for amplified DWDM networks. Prior to that he was involved in the solid state laser development and laser physics research at Q-Peak, Textron Systems, National Research Council of Canada and Bell Labs. Dr. Zavriyev has authored and co-authored over 30 publications including a book chapter on behavior of small molecules in intense laser fields. Dr. Zavriyev holds a B.S., M.S. and Eng.Sc.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University.
