Dr. Michael LaGasse, Vice President, Engineering
Dr. LaGasse joined MagiQ in January 2003, and is responsible for
the overall engineering, design and manufacturing of MagiQ QPN, MagiQ’s
QKD product. He brings 20 years experience in advanced optical and
electronic technologies to the challenges of commercializing QIP.
Prior to joining MagiQ, Dr. LaGasse was Director of Optical Hardware
at PhotonEx, where he led the team responsible for developing the
first production 40Gb/sec transmitters and receivers. He started
his career at Boeing's High Technology Center as an Associate Technical
Fellow working on various advanced optical and electronic hardware
including intersatellite laser communications and optical MEMS switches.
Dr. LaGasse has published more than 40 advanced optics, networking
and telecommunications papers, and holds more than 25 patents –
awarded and pending – on inventions ranging from optical carrier
filtering to time-domain-reflectometry.
Dr. LaGasse holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT.
